LEDC Staff
The Lakeland Economic Development Council (LEDC) is a private, non-profit organization with 150 member companies. The LEDC’s primary role is to create jobs by attracting new industry and helping local industry expand in the Lakeland area. Steve has been with the LEDC since 1987.
In 2001, Laura received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, with an outside concentration in Agriculture and Marketing. She joined the LEDC as Assistant Director in 2005. Her position focuses on the administration, marketing and operations of the LEDC.
Claudia is serving in her 9th year with the Lakeland Economic Development Council. She is responsible for managing leads, business recruitment and promoting Lakeland. In addition she works with local real estate professionals on marketing their available product.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Florida State University.

Publix, a Fortune 100 company, is headquartered in Lakeland with over 3,000,000 sq ft of space including office, manufacturing and distribution and is Florida’s largest private employer. Jeff is responsible for the strategy required to successfully grow Publix Super Markets through new stores, new markets and acquisition. Jeff serves as Vice President of Real Estate and currently serving as the 2011-2012 LEDC Chairman.
Scott Franklin is president and CEO of Lanier Upshaw, Inc., central Florida's largest privately held insurance agency. Scott has been with Lanier Upshaw since 2000 and currently serves on the Board of Directors. He holds a degree from the US Naval Academy, a MBA from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and is a Graduate of the US Air Force Air Command & Staff College.
Tracy is the Vice President, IT Service Delivery for Marriott Vacation Club International (MVCI), having served in that role since October, 2008. In this role she is responsible for creating strategic partnerships in both IT and the Business functional areas to develop and deliver technology strategies that drive organizational process change and efficiencies. Tracy is in her 25th year with Marriott.
Ira Anderson has over 22 years of experience conducting audits and
providing other financial advisory services to a wide array of privately held
clients in the wholesale and retail inventory-based operations, construction
real estate development, and construction industries.
He attended Florida Southern College where he earned a B.S. in Business
Administration.
Land South Group “LSG” is a group of companies specializing in opportunistic real estate investment, real estate lending, and real estate management. LSG has purchased, repositioned and sold more than 330,000 acres of real estate since its inception. Brian received his B.S. in Finance, cum laude with honors in investments from Florida State University. He earned a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Florida College of Law.
Terry is a past Chairman of the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce and has served on a number of local, state and industry boards; including United Way of Central Florida, Lakeland YMCA, Florida Chamber of Commerce, Florida Citrus Processors Association and National Juice Products Association. He is currently on the City of Lakeland Utility committee and the executive committee of the Lakeland Economic Development Council.
Bill Mutz is the President of Lakeland Automall and a past chairman of the Lakeland Economic Development Council (2007-2008). Mutz is currently serving as the chair of the LEDC’s High Skill/High Wage Committee. He is a graduate of Indiana University, with a double major in Finance and Marketing.
CliftonLarsonAllen is among the nation’s top-10 accounting firms and focuses on privately held businesses, their owners, and public sector organizations. Walker is a Partner with the firm and currently serves on the National Assurance and Accounting Resource Group. He received a BS in Business Administration from The Citadel in Charleston, SC, an MBA from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL and is a Certified Public Accountant. Walker is the current chair of the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce.
