Wesley Beck
Wesley Beck, LEDC High Skill/High Wage Chair

Wesley Beck is President of Aspyre Properties, a private equity firm focused on investments in a variety of industries and industrial development. He also serves as CEO of Advanced Concept Innovations, a medical device company and was formerly a founding partner in Florida Flavors, a specialty manufacturer of flavors and fragrances. Wesley is currently serving as chair of the LEDC High Skill Committee.


Mayor Gow Fields

Gow was elected to the Lakeland City Commission in 1992 and became Mayor in January 2010. He is Chairman of the Finance Committee, a member of the Transportation-Airport Committee, the Utility Committee, and a member of the Lakeland Area Mass Transit District Board and the Polk Transit Authority Board.


Doug Thomas, City Manager

250,000 people live in the Lakeland urban area.  The City of Lakeland owns Lakeland Electric, Lakeland’s Airport, the Civic Center, and employs over 2,600.  Doug officially took office December 1, 2003. His academic credentials include attainment of a Master's of Public Administration from American University, Washington, D.C. in 1983.


Anne Kerr, Florida Southern College

Dr. Anne Kerr is the seventeenth president of Florida Southern College. The College is ranked the #2  “Regional College” by U.S. News and World Report, recognized among “The Best 376 Colleges” in the nation by The Princeton Review, and included among the “best and most interesting” schools in the U. S. Florida Southern is home to the largest one-site collection of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in the world.



David D. Hallock, Jr.

David focuses his legal practice on corporate and business transactions including general corporate and business representation, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, tax, health care law, banking and wealth protection planning.  Founded in 1970, GrayRobinson is a full-service law firm providing legal assistance across the state of Florida, with more than 230 attorneys and 10 offices.


Steve Scruggs, LEDC President

The Lakeland Economic Development Council (LEDC) is a private, non-profit organization with 150 member companies. The LEDC’s primary role is to create jobs by attracting new industry and helping local industry expand in the Lakeland area. Steve has been with the LEDC since 1987.


Dr. Elaine Thompson

Florida’s 5th largest hospital with over 4,500 employees, Elaine joined LRMC in September 2010 as CEO. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Science from Drexel University; a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Temple University; and dual Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania.


Brian Philpot

Land South Group “LSG” is a group of companies specializing in opportunistic real estate investment, lending and management.  LSG has purchased, repositioned and sold more than 330,000 acres of real estate since its inception.  Brian received his B.S. in Finance, cum laude with honors in investments from Florida State University. He earned a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, University of Florida College of Law. 


Troy V. Hammond

Lockheed Martin is a global security company that employs approximately 126,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The Lakeland facility is primarily engaged in supporting the corporation through the operation of core financial services functions.


Steve Moseley

MIDFLORIDA is a community-based credit union with over 30 branches located throughout central Florida with corporate offices located in downtown Lakeland. Steve is Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer.  He manages all finance related functions and back office departments that support the branch network.  Steve obtained his undergraduate degree from Stetson University and his MBA from Florida Southern College. 


Dr. Eileen Holden

Polk State College (PSC) is one of 28 public institutions in Florida that offer associate degrees as well as career and workforce training programs. In addition to being a comprehensive community college, Polk State College is authorized to offer baccalaureate degrees to meet local and regional workforce needs. 


Stacy Campbell-Domenick

Polk Works is one of 24 Regional Workforce Boards within the State Florida providing workforce employment and training assistance to the Polk county community.  In the role as President/CEO, Stacy leads a workforce system consisting of two full service One-Stop Career Centers, a Mobile One-Stop Unit, an Administrative Office and an Employer Services division within the fourth largest county in land mass in Florida.  


Jeff Chamberlain

Publix, a Fortune 100 company, is headquartered in Lakeland with over 3,000,000 sq ft of space including office, manufacturing and distribution and is Florida’s largest private employer. Jeff is responsible for the strategy required to successfully grow Publix Super Markets through new stores, new markets and acquisition.


Mark Cabrera

Saddle Creek Logistics is a third-party logistics company headquartered in Lakeland offering integrated logistics services including warehousing, transportation, packaging and fulfillment.  Currently, Saddle Creek has 28 warehouse locations across the country totaling more than 14 million square feet.  In his role as Senior VP/CFO, Mark directs the Finance and HR functions, and serves as the chief strategy officer.


Sam Nimah

Recently built a 653,000 sq ft distribution center in Lakeland with over 400 employees.As the Vice President of Operations for the State of Florida, Sam Nimah is responsible for all aspects of Warehousing, Logistics, Customer Service, Human Resources, Information Technology and Accounting.  Southern Wine and Spirits of America is the country’s largest wine and spirits distributor.


Brian Carroll

SEU has more than 2,500 students representing all 50 states and more than 40 countries. As VP of University Advancement, Brian has oversight of communications, publications, marketing, alumni, corporate, foundation and community/public relations.


Damien Lamendola

WellDyne is a national pharmacy benefits management company that serves health plan members through a retail network of 58,000 nationwide pharmacies.  WellDyne expanded into Lakeland from Colorado in 2009 with plans to employ approximately 700 in their new 66,000 sq. ft. state of the art fulfillment center.
